The editorial standards Simscanner publishes by
Simscanner is a neutral, sourced travel eSIM comparison site. Every page is built from primary sources, dated, and re-verified on a published schedule. This page records the editorial standards that govern how those pages are written, reviewed, and corrected.
Writing standards
- Answer first. Every page opens with a 40 to 60 word direct answer to the page's primary question.
- Sourced numbers only. Prices, data caps, validity, networks, KYC, hotspot policy, and FUP figures all carry a source URL and a fetched date.
- No promotional language. No "best", "amazing", "trusted by", "industry leading", "world class", "live data".
- Plain language. Short paragraphs. No filler. Sentences scan cleanly.
- Entities named. Brands, countries, regions, and network operators are named by their canonical names and linked to their Simscanner entity page on first mention.
Sourcing standards
Accepted primary sources are listed at data sources. Travel blogs, marketing roundups, AI engine summaries, and competitor comparison sites are not accepted for quantitative claims.
Use of AI
AI may be used to draft body copy, FAQ phrasing, and section structure. AI may not invent values. Every quantitative field in an AI-drafted page must be replaced with a value read directly from docs/simscanner/data/. AI engine outputs (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Gemini, Copilot) are leads for research, never evidence.
Affiliate links and coupon codes
Disallowed in Phase 1. Any future introduction triggers a sitewide disclosure on every affected page, a dated revision to this policy, and a dated revision to zero paid placements. Coupon codes, promo codes, and discount codes are not surfaced anywhere on Simscanner, on any page, on any brand.
Corrections SLA
- Acknowledgement within 2 working days.
- Investigation within 5 working days.
- Resolution within 7 working days, with a dated revision note.
